About Caramel Factory!

I’ve been receiving many questions about my shop, so would like to summarize our basic shop information. For details please refer to the blog links! Thank you!

1) Our Shop Location & MAP: We are located at Seksyen 13, Shah Alam

2) How to become a member? To become a member it’s either RM50 or if you sign up for 2 classes you get FREE Membership card! We also have package discounts.

3) How is the class conducted?

Our classes are all hands-on workshop style with small group of students. We will prepare all the ingredients and tools including the packaging, so you just bring yourself to the class!

4) How to register for classes?

It’s very simple! Please drop off email or sms/call at /012-352-3106 (Tomoko) with a) your name b) class you’d like to join and c) your contacts.

5) Payment

      We are requesting RM50 deposit by cash or online for each class. This is to keep the seats and the ingredients for you. The balance will be paid on the day itself.

6) Confirmation email/sms

       I will be sending you confirmation email or sms a few days before the class.

By the way, I also take orders – macarons, cupcakes and cheesecakes. Please contact us if you are interested in.

Members Promotion for June! All the Bread Classes are RM99 only!

Every month I’m running some PROMOTION for the MEMBERS. And for June, All the bread classes will be RM99 only (35% off) for the members!

Here are the bread classes we have for the month of June.

Basic Class * Japanese Cream Puff!

Another Basic Class Menu for June is Japanese Cream Puff and Vanilla Viennois!

This time we will bake what is called a Cookie Choux in Japan, which is a cream puff with crunchy biscuits on top! It is different from the cream puffs we baked in Hinamatsuri Special Class. The custard cream inside is also different too, and this is denser type of cream. We will bake those cream puffs in a small size and each of you will bring back about 18 pieces of them!

I’ll teach you the tips of making the cream puffs in round and nice shape!

The second item for this class is Vanilla Viennois, which is a light and crunchy cookie rich in vanilla flavor. To answer to some of my students, this is also quite different from Diamant Vanille or Vanilla Swirl cookies that I taught in the past. All my recipes are different for each classes ^^.

We will practice piping this cookie in a wavy shape. This cookie will be good for the coming Hari Raya Gifts to your family and friends!

Basic Class * Summer Orange Pound Cake!

This is a Summer Orange Pound Cake from June Basic Menu! It’s a very refreshing pound cake suited for hot weather, well… for Malaysia it’s all year round^^!

Week-end or Cake au Citron (Lemon Cake) are quite common for the pound cake and this is rather an unique Orange version of Week-end. We will first bake the orange butter cake in a 18cm pound mold, then decorate them nicely and shiny by two layers of special coating.

It can be eaten both warm and after being chilled in the fridge!

Another menu for this class is Mascarpone Cream Puff (4 pieces). It’s a soft and delicious puff with mascarpone cream inside. The crust is something similar to dacquoise that I taught in April class. It’s so~ easy to make so you don’t have to worry!

Theme for this class is… Pound Cake and Daquoise

Starbucks Style Chocolate Chunk Cookies & Coffee Lesson!

Good news for the baking beginners and coffee lovers^^!

We are conducting a 2 hour quick-baking starting from this month. The menu is Starbucks Chocolate Chunk Cookies! We will bake chocolate cookies with lots of macadamia nuts and chocolate chunks. Each of you will get to bring back about 10 of this big size cookies.

While the cookies are being baked, I’ll show you how to make hand-dripped coffee using the coffee beans I brought back from Japan. This KALDI coffee beans are one of my favorite beans, and every time I go back to Japan I buy them back. Hand-dripping is the best way to taste the full aroma of coffee, and I hope to let you all taste it during the class. (Oh if you don’t take coffee I’ll make you tea as usual ^^).

Last week~***

I had a busy and interesting last week.

On Friday, I conducted a class at Cake Connection in Jaya One. It was such a pleasure for me to conduct a class in this lovely space, and I enjoyed teaching 6 kinds of Japanese and French pastries there. My seven students were all great and we got to share some experience while working our hands on the cakes.

I am conducting another class at Cake Connection on June 30th (Sat.), so please look forward to it!

On Saturday we had Bread Course Session 1 and Session 2. My bread making classes are all taught by using hands, and especially for Session 1 Sausage and Ham & Cheese Rolls we throw the dough on the kitchen top many times. I always get ‘laughs’ during this process. It’s time for the students to release their daily stresses, too^^!

It’s interesting to see how students shape their doughs – some are perfectionists and some are creative!

We have the same bread sessions this coming Friday and in July.

After rushing back from the kindergarten sports day event on Sunday morning, I conducted Intermediate Children Baking! This month menu was Vanilla & Chocolate Marble Pound Cake. As always children enjoyed baking dirtying their hands and mouths^^.

Premier Class* Mango Cheesecake & Fondant Chocolat!

This month Premier Class menu is Mango Rare Cheesecake and Fondant Chocolat!

Rare Cheesecake is a Non-baked type of cheesecake using ‘gelatine’. If you’ve noticed, I added some mango in this cheesecake. You know, mango and cream cheese is a great match^^!

I am still in the midst of finalizing this recipe, so the photo is just a sample and it’s going to have more layers. The structure of this cake will be Biscuit Joconde, Cheesecake, and Mango gelee (jelly).

Biscuit Joconde is an almond rich cake that is often used in the layered cakes such as Opera. And Mango gelee can be replaced to any other types of fruits gelee such as Framboise (Raspberry), Blueberry, and Strawberry.

If you are too lazy to make so many layers, of course you can take out the mango gelee part, but I hope to introduce you to some nice combination and make you all hmmm~><*  especially since it’s a premier class. That’s my job right? hehe…

I shall be able to post the finalized photos by this Thursday or so!


マンゴーレアチーズケーキの構成は、アーモンドの香りたっぷりのビスキュイ・ジョコンドをボトムに敷き、マ ンゴーのジュレ、濃厚なチーズケーキを層仕立てに組み合わせます。 ただいま最終試作段階中! 今週木曜日には、完成像を載せられると思いますので、もう少々お待ち下さい♪

Another menu for this class will be Fondant Chocolat.

Fondant Chocolat is a chocolate cake with melting chocolate inside. We are supposed to have this cake warm so that the chocolate melts out when you cut the cake. The photo is a green tea flavored chocolate and that’s why it’s green in color, but I am still deciding whether to make it into chocolate or strawberry chocolate flavor. Please hang on to this too!
