Ramadan Special Class*

Hi there!

Here are the details of our Ramadan Special Class.

Since most of you are expected to be busy during this period, we are baking ‘quick-n-easy’ to prepare three delicious American Sweets; Moist Carrot Cake & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie & Fudge Brownie.

Each of the cake/cookie can be made within 1 hour including 20 minutes of preparation time. Also, all the three recipes are easy to keep and transport and will last long, so they are perfect to share with your family and friends ^^!

Carrot Cake

I have taught Carrot cake in my class before but this one uses oil instead of butter (in my previous recipe). It is a moist cake and can stay in the same condition for at least 4~5 days in the fridge. We are putting some cranberries and walnuts inside the cake.

We are baking this cake in 7″ square mould and each of you get to bring back 9cm x 18cm size (half size of the 7″ square).

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

This is Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie. It is different from my previous “Starbucks Style Chocolate Chunk Cookie”. This cookie is crispy on the edge and chewy inside and will stay the same even after many days. It is sweet but quite addictive that I myself can’t stop once I start munching on them. You’ll bring back 10pcs (7cm) of these.

Fudge Brownie

The third menu is Fudge Brownie with some walnuts inside. We will also bake this cake in 7″ square size and each of you will bring back 9cm x 18cm size. You can either cut them into square or those stick style when you serve. The texture is chewy, just like the Chocolate Chip Cookie, but in order to make that texture we need to use a lot of sugar (brown sugar)!

So… I’d say “forget about ‘diet‘ in this class >c<“, haha!

Black coffee goes really well for those sweets so I will be making coffee for you for this class^^. Of course, tea as well if requested. Please look forward to this Special Class!

Hi there!

I am posting May Class Schedule today!

Since Ramadan month is starting from early July, I am holding “Ramadan Special Class” with yummy American Sweets! All the recipes are quick-n-easy to prepare, so you can host your friends and family with those tempting sweets during Ramadan and coming Hari Raya festive period! Carrot Cake * Banana Cake

Hi there!

I finished all our American Sweets Special Class! Thanks for those students who joined my class ^^. It might’ve been a long and tiring class for you but hope you enjoyed~! I am planning to have the next Season Special class around October or November!

By the way, all the three recipes you learned in this class was quite simple and easy to make. You can also change the fruits or some ingredients in the recipe and create a different cake. The other day I baked Banana Cake with my daughter using Carrot Cake recipe. We used 2 bananas (about 150 gram) instead of the carrot (100 gram) and reduced icing sugar to 40 gram (from original 60 gram) as banana was quite sweet and ripen. I took out cranberry and cinnamon from the recipe and only added walnuts. No icing decoration. It tasted great!

We are having American Sweets Special class tomorrow! It’s been a while since I conducted (Season) Special Class! Special class is always fun with many things going on^^… And the menu for this class will be everyone’s favorite; Blueberry Muffin, Carrot Cake and Cinnamon roll!

The photo is one of our menu – Carrot Cake. I have taught this cake a few years ago in children class, but made some change to suit our adult taste. Well, kids will sure love this taste too as my 3 year old daughter proves it!

I was testing the cake many many times and was also thinking what shape to bake with… square? round? or mini?

Many of my students commented mini size is cute! But I also like the round shape as the first photo. Doesn’t it look delicious?

Carrot cake is quite a popular item in cafes in Malaysia and it’s mostly a large round size with cream cheese frosting. Mine is also cream cheese frosting but my cake size will be cute Japanese 15cm size!

I personally like cinnamon spice, so put some cinnamon, walnuts and cranberry in this cake. It’s lovely and delicious cake…^^

 

 

 

 

 

April Intermediate Children Class!

Last weekend we also had Intermediate Children Baking Class! We have classes every month for children age 8yrs to 14yrs, since there are many children this age group keen in learning baking^^!

This month menu was Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting!

They used hand-mixer, piping bag and Kitchen Aid mixer too!

Good job children!

Intermediate children baking for May is scheduled on May 20th (Sun.) 10:30am-1:30pm. Menu is Vnilla & Chocolate Marble Cake! I’ll be writing a post shortly.

Carrot Cake * Intermediate Children Class

Here is another lesson you can’t miss out! Well, if you are between 8-14yrs old… hehe.

It’s an Intermediate Class for children age 8-14 years old. I started this course last month since I found students of this age group to be very keen in learning baking during the children baking class over the past few months. They are the future mastar baker! For intermediate classes I teach the basic skills of baking just like the adult class, and the children get to bake their own cakes from the scratch!

This month menu is Healthy Carrot Cake & Cream Cheese Frosting.

It’s this Sunday, April 22nd 10:30am-1:30pm!

Fee: RM85 only
