Momen ~cupcake shop in Japan~

This cute cupcake shop I visited in Japan is located in a town called Kichijyoji. Kichijyoji is 20 minutes away by train from the city center Shinjuku and has lots of streets with cute shops and trendy cafes. It’s a really nice area to walk around and I like to go there especially during cooling spring and autumn seasons.

As known from its shop name momen – a kind of tofu, this shop is specialized in cupcakes made from momen tofu cream. Their mother shop Hara Doughnuts is a famous doughnuts shop also popular with its doughnuts made from tofu, and they’ve opened up this cupcake branch in 2010.

The lovely shop reminded me of the street corner of Paris!

And inside was a cozy Japanese style cafe.

Four of us ended up ordering seven cupcakes, but this soft cupcakes were just so easy to eat.

Macarons and Cheesecake for sale!

Hi everyone! It’s been 7 months since Caramel Factory has been in operation and I must say that it has been a very enjoyable (and also busy) 7 months!  We have had a lot of requests for macarons and other cakes during this period, and although we could not fulfill them all, we are trying very hard to sell more pastries in the shop.

So I’m happy to announce that during this Ramadan month (July 25th – August 18th) we are going to sell macarons at the shop!

We have two types of packages:

1. Regular size for 3pcs – RM8.00

2. Mini size for 5 pcs – RM10.00

This week the flavors we are offering are; milk chocolate, dark chocolate and vanilla.

Drop by if you want to get them! If you want to order a larger quantity for an event or even yourself please just tell us:)

We will also be taking orders for Japanese Souffle Cheesecake, a moist silky type of cheesecake! It’s RM60 for 7″ round. We need 3 days in advance for the order. If you are interested in, please contact me at 012-352-3106 (Tomoko).

Special promotion class for the members!

Hi there! It’s already month of July. This month is a fasting month for some of you. I will be conducting classes during the Ramadan period…perhaps you can break fast with the cookies & cakes you made @ caramel factory ^^!?

Okay, this month’s special promotion for members is Caramel Pound Cake Class on July 28th (Sat.) 3pm-5:30pm. It’s RM99 only!

It’s a very moist pound cake with melting caramel inside. The pound cake itself has caramel taste, too. Hmmm yummy~.

 

By the way, we are currently selling some cookies at the shop. It’s Sable Mandian – a cinnamon spice cookie in squirrel, porcupine and other cute shapes. RM4.90 for 10 pieces. Will be selling until end of this weekend, so if you have chance to come by Caramel Factory please try some!
